The complex interaction between artist and producer (and/or mixing and mastering engineer) is the key to the success of any production. I have always been highly attuned to the sensitivity and unspoken feeling of this interrelationship.
The best mixes today, and especially the ones I have reworked, are a complex combination of digital and analog sound generators, editing tools, analog instruments and outboard gear. However the quality of the results is not only based on using the best available technology, but also on selecting and combining the right tools individually to achieve the desired goals of the artist.
Every project has its unique potential. The task is to work this out and to translate it into an expressive sound image. I have been mixing and mastering the most diverse genres for decades, with equal success with professional audiences as in the international charts.
